Friends is an American sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired on NBC from September 22, 1994 to May 6, 2004. The series revolves around a group of friends in the borough of Manhattan, New York City. The series was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. The original executive producers were Crane, Kauffman and Kevin S. Bright, with numerous others being promoted in later seasons.
Among all of those people, i am deeply impressed by the love between Monica and Chandler. They love each other, thay give up all the other possibilities and be together. 
Nothing gonna chage their decision, even Chandler cannot give Monica’s biggest wish: have her own baby. she said if she cannot have baby with him,she won’t have baby with anyone else.
So in season7 thay got married, let’s review their big day.
7*23 In preparation for the wedding, Ross has the “big brother” talk with Chandler,
telling him that if he ever hurts Monica, he’ll kick Chandler’s ass. This amuses everybody. Monica stresses that Rachel will forget one of her responsibilities. Joey gets a part in a World War I movie (Over There), with an actor (Richard) who teaches him that great acting means enunciation, and enunciation means you spit. The wedding rehearsal dinner is held; Chandler’s parents feign civility. Chandler freaks out about becoming “the Bings” and disappears; Ross goes to look for him. The Geller parents stop by the coffee shop; Mrs. Geller takes a liking to Gunther. While Rachel and Phoebe wonder how to keep Monica from finding out Chandler is missing, Phoebe finds a positive pregnancy test in Monica’s bathroom. Joey finds out he’s scheduled to work the day of the wedding.
7*24 Joey learns he is only supposed to shoot one scene before he can leave for the wedding, however when his co-star turns up drunk it seems Joey won’t make it to the ceremony. Chandler is found but upon overhearing Phoebe discuss Monica’s pregnancy disappears again. Luckily he turns up again, 
used to the idea of becoming a father and Monica and Chandler become husband and wife. They get married to the tune of the song “A Groovy Kind of Love” by Phil Collins. However when Chandler mentions the pregnancy to Monica, she tells him she isn’t pregnant nor did she take a pregnancy test while Rachel looks very worried…
And in the wedding, what they said is so moving. Chandler is no longer the one scared of responsibilty due to the spoiled childhood, Monica is her new life. Monica tell him in the wedding that Chandler, for so long she…she wondered if she would ever find her prince, her soul mate. Then three years ago, at another wedding she turned to a friend for comfort. And in stead, she found everything that she’d ever been looking for her whole life. And now…here they are…with their future before them…and she only want to spend it with him, her prince, her soul mate, her friend.
At the same time, Chandler promised to Monica he thought this was going to be the most difficult thing he ever gonna had to do. But when he saw her walking down that aisle he realized how simple it was. He love her. Any surprises that come their way it’s okay, because he will always love her. She is the person he was meant to spend the rest of his life with.

Maggie Carpenter (Julia Roberts) is a very attractive young woman who has had many unsuccessful relationships. She is scared of being married, has left a number of boyfriends. Actually, she’s left three men before their ceremony; people call her “runaway bride”.
Ike Graham (Richard Gere) is a reporter in New York, he writes stories about her that includes many mistakes. He’s fired because he does not report the truth, so he decides to write an in-depth article about Maggie in order to get his job back. He travels to Hale, Maryland. She is going to have the fouth marriage. The fourth groom-to-be, Bob Kelly (Christopher Meloni), a football coach at the local high school who sees Maggie as a mental patient.
Ike helps Maggie to know clearly about her fears, the two find themselves falling in love with each other. However, Maggie is going to marry Bob, she tries her best to ignore the feeling to Ike. Ike has problems as well. he has been divorced once, he wants true love as well, and he knowing that Maggie must leave Bob, he does his best to protect her. In the midst of the wedding rehearsal, Bob stands in for the priest, and asks Ike to stand in his place as the groom. When Ike and Maggie “practice” the kiss right in front of Bob, he finds out their feelings. Bob punches Ike in the face and then storming out of the church. Soon after, Ike and Maggie agree to marry since the wedding is already set to take place. Nevertheless, Maggie gets cold feet, and leaves Ike. Ike runs after her, but can’t catch up.
Later, when Ike returns to New York, Maggie is making friends with his cat, Italics. She explains why she’s been running and then she “turns in” her running shoes and proposes to Ike. The two get married in a private ceremony outside, on a hill.

We choose a person to get married when we want to have a family. However, why do we choose him/her as the one? Maybe lots of reasons come out, while only one decides the whole life.
In the long process of civilization, marriage is a fairly recent development. At first, the focus of the male-female life is survival. Male always be the hunter and the female stayed at home, raised the kids and look after the family.
Later, parents decide the one. They aim at remaining the family intact. They prevent teenagers marry the one outside the clan. Besides, marriage is a preferred method to keep peace between two tribes. The heads of the two tribes would like to strength the bonds by this.
In European royal families, the practice is still kept by encouraging marriages between royalties of other countries. In some primitive cultures, parents can get more cows from the grooms if their daughters are more attractive. In some parts of Africa, men of importance can still have many wives, and women can be bought as slaves.
All people of those examples have little or no choice of a marriage partner. Though they did, they had few prospects to choose from.
After industrial revolution, civilization developed and people found more ways to make a living and in living their lives. Love became the theme of marriage. People expected to fall in love and then live happily with their lovers. Nevertheless people had no idea what love is, the task became very confusing. Sex is often mistaken for love.
